Applicants Sought for Oversight Committee
16 million of your tax dollar need oversight...we need you! Be sure your tax dollars are spent wisely; serve on the Independent Community Referendum Oversight Committee (ICROC).
The committee will monitor the expenditure of referendum dollars over the four-year referendum implementation period (July 1, 2009 - June 30, 2013), specifically as it relates to funding of the current non-mandated educational opportunities for students.
The report of the Blue Ribbon Committee, dated September 22, 2008, called for establishment of the committee "to be used as a vehicle for the community for continual communication and input."
The ICROC will be comprised of seven (7) community members serving as voting members, plus two (2) non-voting community members serving as alternates. Each of the nine (9) appointed members will serve for the lifetime of the committee (July 1, 2009 - June 30, 2013). The panel will function as an advisory body to the School Board. Committee members must have established residency in Collier County. They cannot hold an elected public office, be a district employee, have an existing business affiliation with the district, or have a personal interest in the district that may result in a conflict of interest.
